Date : Saturday 3rd June 2006
Format : 3 sprint races:
RACE 1
Venue – Mortonhall
Terrain – This is a small residential areas with nice little streets and alleys broken up with patches of parkland. Trainers will be suitable
Length - 2.8km 30m climb
Map Scale - 1:7,500
Format – normal sprint format
Start times – 1st start at 10am . 1min Start intervals
Location – The section of Mortonhall which will be used is situated on the East side of the Comiston Road before the Fairmilehead Junction and after Braidburn Park .Directions: The start of the 1st race will be here
Driving –
From inside Edinburgh : Take the comiston Road (A702) out of town. After passing Braidburn Park on the right, carry on through the next set of traffic lights then take the next left on to Buckstone Road . This turning will be signposted. Take the 1 st left followed by the 2 nd Right. Carry along to the end of the road then turn right. Take the next right where you will find the assembly area.From outside Edinburgh : Get on to the A720 bypass going towards the Swanston Junction which takes you on the A702 ( Comiston Road ). Take this road going in to town. Go straight over the Fairmilehead Junction, passed Scottish Water on the right and take the 3 rd right on to Buckstone Road . Follow the signs as above.
Via Public Transport – From Princess Street take Lothian Buses 11 (Fairmilehead or Hyvots Bank runs every 10mins), 15 or 15A (to Penicuik runs every 30mins) Get off at the Buckstone Road Bus stop which is after Braidburn Park (which is on the right hand-side of the road)

RACE 2 :
Venue & directions – Released after race 1 Trainers would be suitable for this area.
Length - 2.9kmScale – 1: 5000
Format – Reverse chase. The order will be determined by race 1 results.
Start times – 1st Start at 12.00RACE 3 :
Venue – Released after race 2
Length - 3.9km Scale: 1:7,500
Format – Head-to-Head. Pairs chosen from cumulative results of races 1 & 2. The end results will be determined by race 3’s time alone.
Full leg cover and O shoes recommended

Senior: £9
Junior/Students: £6EMIT will be used for all three races. Brikkes will be available to hire for 50p each.
Punching System: EMIT - Brikk hire: 50p

M/W 45+All classes run the same course. Courses may not be suitable for very young children. Classes may be combined depending on entries.

Due to various reasons the punching system to be used for the Edinburgh Sprint series has been changed from Sport ident to EMIT. Brikks will be available to hire at 50p each. Please be sure to hire a brikk when you enter
